Edward VIII
King Edward VIII Stamps
King Edward 7th had a brief reign in 1936 and marked an unprecedented chapter in the British monarchy was a monarch with a passion for change and simplicity.
The single design that came to fruition reflects this; a simple pencil drawing of the King adapted from a photographic portrait. The regal framing of past monarchs was cast aside, with minimal text and only a small crown in the top corner to hint at the King's royal stature.
